Shannon Library Physical Spaces Study

UVA Library – UX Research, Ethnography and Field Study
A two-phase study of how students actually use UVA’s newly renovated Shannon Library — combining first-impression surveys and an in-person UX desk with direct ethnographic observation across the semester, to understand real navigation, noise, and space-use patterns rather than assumptions.

Eclipse PASS Heuristic Evaluation

UVA Library – UX Research, Heuristic Evaluation
A pre-launch heuristic evaluation of Eclipse PASS, an open-source platform helping researchers comply with funder and institutional publication policies. Identified 12 usability issues against Nielsen’s 10 heuristics, each rated for severity and ease of resolution, in partnership with developers, accessibility experts, and an external development partner (Johns Hopkins University).

Using Illustration Methods and Drawmetrics to Understand Privacy Perceptions

Academic Research and Publication – UX Research, Mixed Methods
A year-long study using an original method, “Drawmetrics”, asking participants to literally draw their own mental model of privacy, then analyzing those illustrations alongside interviews and statistically validated surveys.
Published in CHI and Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETS), two of the field’s top venues.
